A new event called the IRC East Coast Championship will be held by The Royal Temple YC at Ramsgate from August 14th to August 17th 2008.
This event is open to any yacht with a valid IRC certificate and it is planned to hold racing for a range of classes.
A full programme of races is planned and details will be posted when these have been finalised.
We aim to encourage yachts from any venue on both sides of The Channel and can promise some excellent racing in ideal sailing waters.
The timing of this event will allow any yacht participating in Cowes Week to have ample time to arrive and prepare for racing, and any yacht from Holland, Belgium and France that wishes to enter will also find the race arrangements highly suitable for arrival and departure from the event.

For those owners of large yachts with a deep draft, the Ramsgate Harbour management are embarking on a programme of dredging over the next few months that will ensure that sufficient water depth is available both in the harbour and the entrance.
